  • Overview

    FirstFuel is looking for a dynamic, highly-motivated Junior Sales Director with experience selling software solutions - preferably SaaS - to enterprise accounts, with experience in the energy or utility space considered a major bonus.  You will be expected to support existing regional Directors and VPs in specific sales pursuits and sales-related activities within their territories, potentially taking accounts of your own as you learn the industry and our business. Specific activities might include attending discovery calls and sales meetings, gathering and synthesizing information from prospects on their needs, and helping sales directors qualify accounts to drive pipeline generation and deal closures.

    The ideal candidate has a history of bringing on new business and hitting sales quotas, and loves the challenges that come with prospecting in new and existing accounts. Ultimately, you will contribute to building profitable, long-term relationships with prospects and clients to help FirstFuel reach our business objectives. This is a net-new addition to our sales team.

    Responsibilities

    • Achieve or exceed assigned annual quota by generating qualified pipeline opportunities and supporting deal closure
    • Unearth new sales opportunities through prospecting and networking within existing accounts
    • Work closely with FirstFuel sales management and territory leadership to form and set strategies and execute on tactics within and across multiple named accounts
    • Remain in frequent contact with accounts within the pipeline to progress sales opportunities towards closure  
    • Identify, reach and influence key decision makers and major stakeholders within targeted accounts
    • Create detailed business plans to facilitate the attainment of FirstFuel’s sales goals and quotas
    • Collaborate with other Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations team members inside FirstFuel to further momentum inside key accounts
    • Present product overviews to prospective clients and customers and answer questions about the functionality of our SaaS platform
    • Lead proposal generation and RFP responses within key accounts

     

    Qualifications

    • You are a highly-motivated individual looking for an opportunity to grow your career in SaaS sales and within the utility/energy industry
    • You are a collaborative, thorough, strategic, responsive and proactive individual who works well in a team selling environment with long and detailed sales cycles with many stakeholders
    • You have at least of 2-5 years of proven experience and success in sales or business development at a SaaS company
    • You have work experience in the energy sector, ideally in customer-facing sales roles representing SaaS products to utilities or other energy providers
    • You love networking and understanding prospects’ personalities and their business needs and can use these insights to create and execute a strategic sales approach
    • You have strong communication skills with a keen ability to build relationships, as well as effective negotiation skills
    • You have a BA/BS and preferably an MBA/advanced degree
    • Preferably you reside in the Boston area and are available to be in the office when not traveling
    • You are okay traveling ~25% across North America
